Historic City News was notified that District 23 Medical Examiner, Dr. Predag Bulic, has been called in to determine what killed a 30 year-old Fruit Cove woman found inside her residence at about 12:15 a.m. this morning.
Sheriff’s Media Relations Officer, Kevin Kelshaw, has little that he can say until homicide detectives have the opportunity to review the results of the autopsy.
E-911 dispatchers received the early-morning call reporting that someone “was ill” at the residence of Kristi Lynn (Privette) Dennis, who lived at 1439 N. Fruit Cove Road, St Johns, FL.
Emergency personnel arrived to find Dennis unconscious. They attempted life saving measures; however, she could not be revived. Dennis was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an interview with Dr. Bulic at his office in St Augustine, he explained to Historic City News reporters that anytime there is an unattended death, before the death certificate can be signed, he must perform a post-mortem examination.
The results of toxicology testing will not be immediately available; however, Bulic will complete his examination and make a ruling on the cause and manner of death as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, detectives are continuing to interview witnesses as well as process the scene for any potential evidence, Kelshaw reported. The investigation is continuing.
Anyone with information concerning this death is asked to contact the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 824-8304. You can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling CrimeStoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477).
