Director of Public Affairs for the City of St Augustine, Paul Williamson, informed Historic City News reporters that beginning at 7:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, there will be traffic interruptions Avenida Menendez between Bridge and St Francis Streets throughout most of the day.
Seawall project workers need to remove a large crane from the area; necessitating some detours and intermittent road closing along the bayfront, south of King Street.
“While southbound traffic will be allowed on Avenida Menendez, south of Bridge Street, northbound traffic will be detoured at St Francis Street,” Williamson told reporters. “There will be a period when both lanes will be closed.”
Williamson told Historic City News that the crane relocation and traffic detours should be concluded by 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
Vehicles are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid the area.
