Local Historic City News reporters in St Augustine were contacted by Kim Brumfield with an Earth Day suggestion for our readers who will be spring cleaning — recycle your unwanted items by donating them to the Betty Griffin House Thrift Shoppes.
Earth Day is Sunday, April 22, but Brumfield says any day is a good day to recycle your belongings and donate them to a lifesaving organization with over 20 years of service in the community.
“We need to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment and recycling with Betty Griffin House is a great way to accomplish that goal,” Brumfield said. “When you recycle your belongings, you not only help save the environment, but also help fund critical programs for our clients in need of crisis services.”
New items arrive daily, including designer fashions, quality clothing, furniture, exercise equipment, artwork, lamps, jewelry, gifts, books and housewares. Electronics including cell phones, computers, printers or cameras, contain hazardous materials that can damage the environment if you just throw them out — recycle them, instead.
Call either Thrift Shoppe location for pickup of furniture and large items.
