Numerous car burglaries and the theft of two vehicles in the Ponte Vedra Beach Municipal Service District are under investigation this morning, according to an alert received in the Historic City News room overnight.
Both stolen vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside, according to the incident report.
One of the vehicles, a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina, taken from a residence in the 500 block of East Surf Spray Lane was recovered later this morning in the neighborhood.
The second vehicle, a white 2004 Acura TSX, was taken from a residence in the first block of Sea Winds Lane South. The license plate number is Z1BKD.
Deputies have also responded to at least six car burglaries.
One occurred in the 300 block of Sea Moss Lane where a Nikon digital camera, a .40 caliber Glock handgun, two full magazines and 50 rounds of ammunition was taken.
Two car burglaries occurred on Sea Winds Lane East. A set of keys was taken from one of the vehicles and a cell phone was taken from the other.
Three car burglaries were reported in the 500 block of South Sea Lake Lane. A laptop computer and a checkbook were taken from one vehicle and a small amount of cash was removed from the other two.
