Historic City News editor Michael Gold announced that an editorial board will convene on Friday morning, July 20, to interview candidates competing for seats in, or including, St Johns County if their name appears on the upcoming August 24 Primary Election ballot.
Every two years, Historic City News attempts to collect as much relevant information as possible about candidates for political office. That information is developed through interviews and publically available records.
As stated in the Political Advertising policy of the daily news journal:
Editorial endorsements offered by the company prior to the Primary Election or General Election are made by consensus of an editorial board chosen by the publisher of Historic City News. Those endorsements express the opinions of the members of the editorial board and the editor of Historic City News; and are formulated without any candidate’s approval and without charge.
If you are a candidate for public office and would like to participate in the interview process, contact Historic City News (904-829-9511) to schedule an interview.
Participation in the process is voluntary. Not every candidate will be interviewed. Candidates interviewed are not guaranteed an endorsement. Any endorsement made is editorial only. No money is paid, or received, for an editorial endorsement.
