Laurie Sanderson reported the following St. Augustine and St. Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
Downtown St. Augustine:Motorists may encounter temporary delays and flagging operations along West Castillo Drive, Avenida Menendez, Marine Street, South Street, St. George Street, Cordova Street, Bridge Street, Granada Street, King Street, Sevilla Street, Valencia Street and Riberia Street between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday, January 21 to accommodate runners of the Matanzas 5000 and Fun Run race.
State Road 13 at Sheffield Road: Daytime lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, and Wednesday, January 25 for asphalt repairs.
State Road 13 from Racetrack Road to the Cunningham Creek Bridge: Daytime lane closures in both directions Monday, January 23 through Friday, January 27 for storm sewer repairs.
State Road 16 from the Clay County line to San Marco Avenue: Daytime lane closures Monday, January 23 through Thursday, January 26 while crews repaint the roadway markings.
State Road 206 from Southwood Elementary School to two miles east: Daytime lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, January 23 through Thursday, January 26 for shoulder work.
State Road 207 at County Road 305: The northbound right turn lane on State Road 207 at County Road 305 will be closed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. while an island is constructed at County Road 305. Also, possible daytime lane closures for delivery of equipment and materials to construct a multi-use trail from the end of the existing trail to Armstrong Road.
State Road 312 at Sgt. Tutten Drive and at Plantation Island Drive (Harbour Island Community):Daytime lane closures are scheduled in both directions on State Road 312 at Plantation Island Drive and at Sgt. Tutten Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, January 23 through Friday, January 27 to reconstruct turn lanes.
State Road A1A – Summer Haven Bridges (just north of Marineland): Daytime lane closures with flagging operations on both bridges Monday, January 23 through Saturday, January 28 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate delays for up to 10 minutes and should drive with caution through the construction area. The speed limit in this area is reduced to 40 mph.
State Road A1A from the Flagler County line to Avenida Menendez: Daytime lane closures Monday, January 23 through Thursday, January 26 while crews repaint the roadway markings, excluding the construction zone in Summer Haven.
State Road A1A at 1161 North in the Palm Valley area: Daytime northbound lane closures Monday, January 23 and Tuesday, January 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to remove sand from the roadway.
State Road A1A over Hospital Creek, ½ mile south of the Vilano Bridge: Daytime lane closure on Thursday, January 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for routine bridge maintenance.
US 1 from State Road 16 to the Duval County line: Daytime lane closures Monday, January 23 through Thursday, January 26 while crews repaint the roadway markings.
US 1 at the San Sebastian River Bridge from Saragossa Street to King Street: Possible nighttime lane closures from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. in both directions Monday, January 23 through Friday, January 27.
