A woman dropping off her 3-year-old son as she was on her way to work this morning crashed into the rear of a St Johns County school bus causing it to strike another vehicle in its path, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kevin Kelshaw.
Traffic officers responded to the multi-vehicle traffic crash in the area of Florence Cove this morning at 7:35 a.m.
There were three passengers onboard the school bus at the time of the collision.
Kelshaw told Historic City News in St Augustine that the only injuries sustained were by the 3-year-old boy who was riding in the Jeep with his mother.
The child in the Jeep was transported from the 6000 block of SR-13 to Baptist South Hospital for medical treatment; the extent of the boy’s injuries are unknown.
The woman driving the Jeep was cited for careless driving and the investigation is continuing.
