Letter: Bequette motive a mystery

Dear Editor:
In following the Anastasia Mosquito Control District race for Seat 3, I cannot help but notice that Janice Bequette has spent almost $14,000 in her race.
This position pays an annual salary of $4,800.
What possible motivation could Ms. Bequette have for spending almost three-times the amount of money that this position pays per year to obtain this seat?
Where does this candidate work?
Who is helping to fund her campaign and for what reason?
It just seems that there are some missing links here, and the St. Johns County citizens have a right to know what they might be.
