Charlie Myers informed local Historic City News reporters in St Augustine that members of Detachment 383 of the Marine Corps League, is faithfully delivering monthly coffee and donut treats to the veterans at the local VA Outpatient Clinic.
The effort is spearheaded by Woody Rodgers, the Oldest City Detachment Chaplain.
“We are trying to live up to the US Marine Corps motto,” Myers told reporters. “Semper Fidelis translates to Always Faithful.”
Marines and Navy Corpsmen come together on the third Tuesday morning of each month to spread a little cheer to the clinic’s waiting room.
Their message to their fellow veterans is, “We don’t remember you, we never forgot”.
