The Office of the State Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of a residential structure fire that consumed one mobile home in the 8400 block of CR-13 North earlier this morning.
St Johns County Fire Rescue personnel were the first to respond to the fire call according to information received by Historic City News from Lt Jeremy Robshaw shortly after 9:00 a.m. today.
Robshaw told Historic City News local reporters that by the time firefighters arrived on the scene; the mobile home was “fully involved with fire”.
Once it was determined that the structure had been evacuated, crews began an aggressive fire attack. During the extinguishment, a physical search of the structure was conducted and no humans or pets were discovered.
The mobile home sustained heavy fire damage and is most likely a total loss. Other homes within 100 feet of the structure were spared by the efforts of firefighter crews who worked quickly and successfully contained the fire to the mobile home of origin.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire in approximately 10 minutes and completed extinguishment and mop up in about an hour.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported during this incident.
