Police searching for stolen property

Posted on 11/01/201211/02/2012 By 2 Comments on Police searching for stolen property

St Augustine Police Department Corporal Charles Simpson informed local Historic City News reporters that the Criminal Investigations Division is seeking the identity and whereabouts of a man captured on surveillance video using a stolen credit card.

Sunday, October 28, a resident of South Matanzas Boulevard on Anastasia Island reported that a vehicle had been burglarized and items stolen included an i-pad, passports, and several credit cards.

At 7:30 p.m. on the same day, a man in his 20’s to 30’s, possible left chest tattoo, muscular build, goatee, wearing a distinctive fabric lanyard and tag, a white athletic undershirt, and a jacket that appears to have a colorful artistic imprint, entered the Walmart in St Augustine, and made a purchase using one of the stolen credit cards.

“Because of the type of items he bought, I believe the man who used the stolen credit card likely lives in the area,” Simpson told reporters.

Anyone with any information concerning this crime or who may know the identity of those involved is asked to contact detectives with the St. Augustine Police Department at (904) 209-3482. You can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling CrimeStoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-(888) 277-TIPS.
