Old School House holds logo design contest
Elaine Fraser, owner and manager of the Oldest Wooden School House Historic Museum and Gardens in St Augustine is ready to put a new look on the old school’s logo and she is using a design contest to tap into the artistic talents of graphic artists around the world.
Using an Internet based service, 99designs, thousands of talented designers are competing to create the perfect design that Elaine will love. Local graphic artists can still enter the contest.
“I will guarantee a winner for this contest,” Fraser wrote in the contest notes. “I have requested that it be extended for 24 hours.”
Historic City News readers, even those who aren’t very artistic, can visit the schoolhouse logo contest and vote for their favorite design.
Elaine is the third-generation of Fraser to own the attraction located at the foot of St George Street in the shadow of the Old City Gates. The Frasers also own and operate the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park.
The original 1700’s Colonial building remains standing on the site of the oldest wooden schoolhouse. The museum is a historic attraction dedicated to preservation, education and enjoyment by visitors from around the world.
The gardens contain busts of educational leaders from the Americas and beautiful, tropical plants and flowers; which provide a unique, secluded and very desirable event venue.
Fraser admits that the logo is a challenge — since the ideal design must represent two featured attractions.
