Historic City News has learned that a 20-year-old St Augustine woman is in the Flagler County Inmate Facility today facing seven counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an unsuccessful attempt to collect a debt — at knifepoint.
Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies said Brianna Holman of St. Augustine drove to 89 Luther Drive around 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon to collect a $300 debt from Jeritz Jones, a Palm Coast resident.
When Jones told Holman he did not have the money, an argument ensued until another resident of the house told Holman to leave. She refused and deputies said she went to her vehicle where she retrieved a large knife.
Witnesses said the woman threatened to stab the residents of the house; at which time one of the men armed himself with a baseball bat.
Deputies said the situation continued to escalate after the resident used the bat to strike the window of Holman’s vehicle.
Holman got back into her vehicle, backed out of the driveway and then accelerated toward the people standing outside the home, in an attempt to strike them with the vehicle, according to the report.
Holman lost control and her vehicle and wound up striking a mini-van which was parked in the driveway. Deputies said her vehicle struck the mini-van with such force, that the mini-van was pushed into the garage door, causing damage to the door and the house structure.
Holman was arrested by deputies as she stood in the median of the road, holding a knife and shouting directly in front of the Luther Drive home. She is being held in lieu of $7,000 bond on the charges.
