Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Kelshaw informed Historic City News that yesterday, arrest warrants were issued for two St Augustine men in connection with an investigation that began in late January; when Carlisle Interconnect Technologies reported that a forklift was missing from their warehouse.
During a two-month period, between November 2011 and January 2012, 44 year-old Patrick Vaughn Stevens who resides at 374 North Rodriquez Street, and 33 year-old Robert Nixon III, who resides at 144 Oviedo Street, worked at the company.
Scrap yard transaction tickets and witness statements assisted in identifying the two men who were brought in for questioning. Each admitted to the theft of about 41,000 pounds of parts and machinery from the Carlisle warehouse.
Stevens is facing two counts each of grand theft and dealing in stolen property. His bond is set at $175,000.
Nixon is facing one count of grand theft. His bond is set at $10,000.
