The voice of Florida’s retail stores and merchants announced to Historic City News that through their trade association, Florida Retail Federation, members are preparing for the 2013 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday.
What can St Augustine and St Johns County shoppers expect at the stores during the popular tax holiday, from August 2nd to 4th?
“As in previous tax holidays, clothing and shoes up to $75 will be tax exempt, along with school supplies up to $15,” Rick McAllister, Federation president and CEO, told local reporters. “But, this year, we also get an upgrade — personal computers and accessories selling for up to $750 will be tax free.”
For Florida retailers the big back-to-school shopping season is expected to yield a greater number of large-ticket purchases — especially for budget-conscious families who have an opportunity to save up to $45 on a laptop computer, tablet, or other mobile technology.
