Tuesday through Friday this week, Park Ranger Jesse Olbrich informed Historic City News that the popular “Hands on History” camp, and a staff member with a family emergency, leaves the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument with only one available staff member.
Olbrich says, although the Castillo will be extremely short handed, the park relies heavily on VIP assistants and they always contribute to improving the overall visitor experience.
“At this point we are asking for some volunteer assistance to keep the fort manned and ready for our visitors,” Olbrich wrote in this week’s Castillogram. “If you would like to help us with sallyport, crowd control, or can give a program, please come out at some point this week.”
