Historic City News has learned that members, and prospective members, of the St Johns County Chamber of Commerce will welcome author, television personality and local businessman Pat Croce as he delivers the keynote address during the Annual Membership Breakfast.
This year’s Membership Breakfast event will be held at the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort and Conference Center on Thursday, March 14 with breakfast service beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the program commencing at 8:30 a.m. Visit the calendar at www.sjcchamber.com for more information.
“Locally, Croce is best known as the owner of the St Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum,” said Chamber spokesman, Beau Phillips. “Most recently, he has re-developed the Colonial Quarter; located on historic St George Street in downtown St Augustine.”
Inc magazine described Croce as “The Dale Carnegie of the 21st Century”. He has received awards for his entrepreneurial acumen, received recognition as one of businesses’ best motivators, and has authored a New York Times best seller.
Croce began his business career as the founder and creator of a sports medicine empire with 40 centers in 11 states. After the sale of Sports Physical Therapists, in 1996, Croce completed his transition from the training room to the owner’s box when he purchased the Philadelphia 76ers National Basketball Association franchise. In the 5-years he served as president, Croce guided the Philadelphia franchise from worst-to-first in the NBA’s Eastern Conference; leading the 76ers to the NBA Finals in 2001.
Croce took his dynamic personality to the small screen as a sports commentator for NBC, on the NBA show, at the 2004 Olympic Games, and on his nationally syndicated daily show.
Those interested in becoming a member of the St Johns County Chamber of Commerce and attending the presentation may call 904.829.5681 for additional information, Philips told reporters.
