This will be the third year that members from St Johns County Fire Rescue and sounding departments will celebrate one of the Fire Department’s time-honored traditions; and participate in the St Patrick’s Day Parade in St Augustine.
We will be joined by personnel from the local chapter of Retired Fire Department of New York, along with other organizations and businesses from around the county.
“Last year we had about 20 members from the department march,” Brian Aschoff told Historic City News reporters. “Everyone said that they had a great time and cannot wait for this year’s parade.”
This is a great time to experience the respect and admiration from the citizens and visitors alike.
For those interested in participating Saturday morning, approved parade attire is your normal Class C uniform. There is a special, approved T-shirt that you can purchase and wear under your uniform shirt. All proceeds will benefit our charity, Fire Fighters for Families.
Firefighters that participate will receive free admission to the 2013 Celtic Music and Heritage Festival.
