Marci A Larson, Public Affairs Manager for the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization, has asked for input from Historic City News readers about the annual, updated Transportation Improvement Program; either on their website of during a public meeting later this month.
The Transportation Improvement Program is a staged, multi-year program of local, state and federal transportation projects to be implemented during the next five-year period in North Florida.
Citizens within its four-county region are encouraged to attend the public meeting being held on Wednesday, May 29 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at 1022 Prudential Drive in Jacksonville. Complimentary parking is available.
The Transportation Planning Organization is governed by a 15-member board of elected officials and transportation agency representatives. Larsen advised Historic City News that the deadline to respond online is May 31.
The North Florida Transportation Planning Organization handles a wide range of initiatives and projects that include the long range transportation plan; commuter services car and vanpool program; freight mobility and congestion management studies; coalitions for Intelligent Transportation Systems and Clean Cities, forums on integrating land use and transportation, public private partnerships, global trade and transportation symposiums, to name a few.
