Local, state and federal law enforcement officials reported to Historic City News that they began executing 54 search warrants and 57 arrest warrants yesterday against participants in the Allied Veterans of the World conspiracy; in 23 Florida counties and five additional states — as of 1:00 p.m. today, 49 have been arrested.
The undercover investigation, known as Operation “Reveal the Deal”, began in July 2009 and was conducted by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Internal Revenue Service, and the United States Secret Service. The agencies worked in partnership with the Florida Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution and the United States Attorney’s Office.
