Sean Mulhall, Chairman of the St Johns County Republican Executive Committee, announced to local Historic City News reporters in St Augustine that the February business meeting for the Republican Party has been rescheduled to avoid a conflict with Valentine’s Day.
Voting members of the party need to be aware of this date change in order that elections can be held for new members of the Republican Executive Committee and to fill the vacant position of Treasurer.
“Andrea Anthony, a Certified Public Accountant, is the only declared candidate for this important position,” Mulhall told Historic City News. “Additional nominations may come from the floor on the night of the meeting.”
If you are planning to attend the meeting, it will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Conference Center of the Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St Augustine; located at 4730 Casa Cola Way (32095).
“We had an excellent first meeting for the new year,” Mulhall said. “Representative Ronald Doc Renuart made a $1,000 donation to the local Republican Party — that was a nice shot in the arm for our treasury and we are very appreciative.”
Also attending was Florida Senator John Thrasher who informed the Executive Committee members about the myriad of issues and bills that will be debated in the coming legislative session. Renuart spoke expansively about Obama-care and its effect on Floridians.
Mulhall told reporters that there are “some exciting things in the works” for St Johns County Republicans and the local Executive Committee, “You will want to attend to learn the latest news,” Mulhall said.
