Historic City News’ broadcast media partner, WFOY News-Talk Radio, will begin a weekly Education Radio talk show, “Making the Grade” hosted by Parents Advancing Global Education co-founder Kim Kendall; beginning in August, according to an announcement released today.
The hour-long weekly program, aired Wednesday afternoons between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., will accept feedback on the top education issues and asks the question, are our students graduating ready to compete?
“We will be focused on identifying education concerns,” Kendall told Historic City News this morning. “We want to locate and broadcast solutions to bring about continued positive change to impact our students.”
Kendall says she is thrilled to be able to host a program that concerns issues so close to her heart. For the last 10 years, Kendall has been in the trenches fighting for educational issues for her community and state. As a mother with kids in our local middle schools, there is simply no other area where she is more passionately driven to succeed.
Listen live over the Internet from anywhere you have a high-speed connection at this WFOY STREAMING LINK. The station will be simulcast on both FM 102.3 and AM 1240 and can be heard anywhere in St Augustine and St Johns County. Visit WFOY on the web.
Kendall chaired the American Eagle and Literacy Challenge, which involved 150 Florida Elementary schools highlighting reading and literacy to Florida students at the VPK and elementary levels. She has served on numerous educational boards, including the St Johns County Education Foundation, Chaired Timberlin Creek’s Business Liaison Team, Chaired numerous PTO/PTA events, and is co-founder of the St Johns Middle School Athletic Association; which brought middle school sports to the county with all private funding. Most recently she served on the Florida Commissioner of Education’s “Florida 2.0 Digital Learning Group” which is focused on bringing digital reform to all of Florida’s students. She is working on bringing our Florida students into the digital age and finding funding without dipping into the budget.
Kendall told Historic City News that there will be a link to a live webcam that you can view later in case you can’t tune in during the 3:00 p.m. hour. The program will be broadcast live on WFOY following Rush Limbaugh.
