The Office of State Attorney RJ Larizza reported to Historic City News that 66-year-old Flagler Beach resident Paul Miller was sentenced yesterday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Klare Ly told local reporters that in May, Miller, who resided at 1340 South Flagler Avenue, was convicted by a Flagler County jury of second-degree murder with a firearm. Miller shot five times and killed his neighbor, Dana Mulhall, on March 14, 2012.
Miller and Mulhall had been arguing over Miller’s barking dogs. Assistant State Attorney Jacquelyn Roys said the victim’s family asked Circuit Judge David Walsh to impose the maximum sentence.
Also yesterday, the Flagler County Grand Jury returned an indictment against 42-year-old Erick Elon Niemi for First Degree Murder, a capital felony, in relation to the death of Leonard Lynn on May 29, 2013.
Niemi is accused of killing his roommate in Palm Coast. Lynn was found dead in his bedroom with a pillow over his face, Ly reported.
