St Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman, Matthew Sara, contacted Historic City News today to update our readers on the results of last weekend’s “fire truck pull”.
The event, which pits teams of first responders from several local departments against each other for charity, was incorporated into the 2013 Celtic Festival that was held in Jacksonville Beach.
The winning team was from Nassau County. They donated their winnings to help Shawn O’Shell — a firefighter with Jacksonville Beach who was recently injured while off duty.
St Johns County Fire Rescue was represented by team captain Brian Aschoff, joined by Tyler Fenton, Jimmy Palmer, and Max Schafer.
