Official Gentlemen’s Bike Guide distributed

Velo Fest reported to Historic City News that volunteers hit the pavement today with the Official Gentlemen’s Bike Guide; assisting both locals and guests when they navigate the streets of St Augustine during the Gentlemen of the Road stopover Friday and Saturday.

Volunteers, going door-to-door distributing nearly 15,000 maps to some 150 bars, restaurants, banks and others, received warm receptions and positive responses to the additional effort being made by the local non-profit group.

“From printing and insurance, banners, rentals, without our amazing local sponsors, we would not be able to bring this dynamic system to the city as a free service,” says Heather Neville, Executive Director for the Velo Fest Community Initiative. “To satisfy our mission, this weekend is all about education and awareness, and we are sticking to our commitments.”

So how does someone get involved?
Ride your bike, park your car at the St Augustine Amphitheatre, pedal in, rack it up or valet, and enjoy the fact that you have the freedom of two wheels.

Local?
Just cruise on in, maybe even ride down Cincinnati and wave to Canan Law, and whether you let us serve you or not, come by the valet on Orange Street and check out all the fun things.

Not going to the show, or feel the need to help?
We love you too. The valet is going to be intense, so the more hands the better.

Velo Fest will provide the community with maps, parking options, flashing bike lights, and information, all free of charge; thanks to generous contributions from Sunshine Realty, Canan Law, Neville Breidenstein CPA, and many others who have provided money and services towards this major project.
