Instructor Ray Dominey, from St Augustine Photographic Art, will hold an introductory level class for students of all ages interested in getting started using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, on February 4th and 5th 2013.
Dominey is a self-taught professional photographer who uses Adobe software products, including Photoshop Elements, every day at his studio on Hypolita Street; in the Casa Del Hidalgo building, near St George Street.
“I learned by struggling through the program, reading all of the books, tips and tutorials that I could find,” Dominey said. “I know that there are online classes and many of them are excellent — but nothing is better than a small class setting where you can interact one-on-one with the instructor.”
Dominey told Historic City News that once he “really learned” how to use Photoshop Elements, the benefits of having that knowledge became very obvious to him.
First, he says it improved his photography — giving him an insight into what is necessary in the photograph technically, artistically and creatively; so that the least amount of processing would be required after the shot to achieve the desired result.
“Second it improved drastically my ability to organize, sort, find and edit photos in minutes to produce the quality and creative output that my customers expect,” Dominey told reporters. “In the past, that process took hours to complete; now, I have not only improved my productivity, but also the quality of my finished work.”
