Bridge of Lions closing at 9:00 p.m.

FDOT District Two Public Information Director Gina Busscher announced to Historic City News readers that maintenance crews will be cleaning and resealing damaged and missing bridge joint sealant across the Bridge of Lions tonight; necessitating bridge closure until about 4:00 a.m.

Although evening rain could cancel the scheduled work, the FDOT spokesperson believes that the work can be completed in one night.

Until it is safe to reopen the bridge, traffic will be detoured to the SR-312 Mickler-O’Connell Bridge.

Maintenance at three different locations across the Bridge of Lions deck will close SR-A1A beginning tonight at 9:00 p.m. until finished Thursday morning.
