Jennifer Zuberer informed local Historic City News reporters that tickets are now available for the PICASSO Art & Arena exhibition, which will be on display at the St Augustine Visitor Center located at 10 West Castillo Drive throughout February until May 11, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., daily.
When reporters visited the site this morning, we found staff busy at work tending to the many improvements and upgrades to the WPA-era building; making it safer, better lit, and more secure as part of its transformation into first quality exhibit space.
“The PICASSO Art & Arena exhibition is coming to life, and we can’t wait to share the works of art created by this brilliant Spanish master with St Augustine,” said Dana Ste. Claire, director for the St. Augustine 450th Commemoration.

The exhibition is self-guided, but docent-led tours are available; they were being trained for their important roles today. PICASSO Art & Arena is presented in both English and Spanish.
As many of the still-crated works of art sat on the floor, under 24-hour security, two curators who traveled from the Fundación Picasso, Museo Casa Natal of Málaga, Spain, with the exhibit, were supervising each critical detail.
The exhibition is the kickoff event in St Augustine for the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Florida by Juan Ponce de León.
