During their regular business meeting at the St Augustine Shrine Club on Monday, March 11, members of the Republican Club of Greater St Augustine elected new officers and directors for the coming term.
In addition to changes in three of the four club officers, Claude Greenfield was reappointed as legal counsel and Ron Sanchez was reappointed as director at large.
The new officers include:
Frank Larizza, President
Gary Hiatt, Vice President
Pat Greenfield,Secretary
Bob Veit, Treasurer
Outgoing president Gary Bruce, outgoing vice-president Gary Howell, and outgoing treasurer Cheryl Howell were each recognized for their service and contributions to the community as well as the club.
Larizza spoke to the members about his ideas for the Club and the importance of reaching out to the youth of the area — especially the high school students. “We need to find ways to interest them in becoming politically active Republicans,” Larizza said.
St Johns County Tax Collector Dennis Hollingsworth will be the guest speaker when the club convenes its next meeting on April 8th.
