Kenneth Rainer announced to Historic City News that a new Volunteer Coordinator for the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve will start work on August 12th; and she brings many years’ experience with her.
Welcome 41-year-old Shannon Rininger of Debary to the Reserve. Most recently, while employed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, she assisted on an update to the Wekiva River Aquatic Preserve Management Plan; which includes 20 miles of the St. Johns River designated as part of the aquatic preserve.

She also worked as a biologist for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission; where part of her duties were to recruit, train, and utilize volunteers for various activities.
