Historic City News was informed that the inaugural Paseo Pastel St Augustine Chalk Walk will be held Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 around the St Augustine Visitors Information Center, located at 10 West Castillo Drive.
This art event is free to the public and will be held on the sidewalks of the promenade.
The theme of the event is “Celebrating St Augustine’s Heritage” in recognition of the state’s 500th anniversary.
Through chalking, artists will illustrate St Augustine’s rich historical tapestry. Featured artist Lee Jones, Orlando, will be joined by 70 artists, art educators and students to create a colorful outdoor canvas.
Children can create their own chalk designs at the Kid’s Corner sponsored by the Children’s Museum of the St Johns. Schedule is as follows:
Saturday, March 23
8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Chalking
5:30 p.m. Cash Prizes Awarded
Sunday, March 24
All day public stroll and viewing, sidewalk washing 4 p.m.
