From Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14, the City of St Augustine has notified Historic City News that K&S Tree Service will be trimming trees within the right-of-way along streets lying in the quadrant between US-1 and San Marco Avenue from Picolata Road – SR-16 south to West Castillo Drive.
Affected streets include Sebastian Avenue, Sanchez Avenue, Garnett Avenue, Cunningham Avenue, Institute Street, Gabriel Street, Center Street, Pacific Street, Waldo Street, Genovar Street and Grant Street.
The trimming will be done from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
“Because of the trimming, there will be no parking along these streets during the times of trimming, and vehicles remaining in the area will be towed at owner’s expense,” Public Affairs Director Paul Williamson warned. “There will be no exceptions.”
This project provides tree maintenance to comply with the city’s ordinance which requires overhead clearance of 14 feet above the road surface. It will not entail trimming trees around aerial utilities which is the responsibility of electric, phone and cable television providers.
No street closures are anticipated and all local traffic will have access to their properties. However, at isolated work areas, vehicular traffic will be narrowed to one lane with flag men.
