COMMUNITY SERVICE: Big Brother, five years; Steering Committee First Coast Technical College welding program, 10 years; Learn to Read of St. Johns County, six years

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE: I have owned and operated my own professional engineering firm in St. Johns County for 17 years. With my experience as a commissioner for the City of St. Augustine Beach for eight years and my other board experience, I will bring professionalism and my history of procedural awareness to the board. I believe that I am more than qualified to be a positive force for change and fiscal responsibility on the AMCD board.

REASON FOR RUNNING: I have always had a personal commitment to public service and it made sense to offer my knowledge, technical skills, ability and experience to the seat where there is the greatest need. This position requires sharp focus and strength to tackle the many controversial issues that the AMCD board faces now and will face in the near future. I love our Florida environment and our outdoor lifestyle, and want to make certain that we take that into consideration when protecting St. Johns County citizens from mosquitoes.

GOALS FOR UPCOMING TERM IF ELECTED: I’m running in order to create better long-range planning and fiscal responsibility. I have achieved these goals while working with various boards and board members in the past. Our citizens do not deserve to be faced with continuing tax hikes that this board just passed. We need proactive leadership to properly balance the requirements of present and future population growth. We do not need last-minute doubling of our tax bills to make up for the lack of proper planning and business practices.
