Lieutenant Justin Asbury is cautioning Historic City News readers about potentially deteriorating driving conditions in the area of SR-206, east of US-1 near Dupont Center.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to monitor a 110-acre control burn in the area of Matanzas State Forest which may affect roadways in St. Johns County.
“Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling in these areas,” Lt. Asbury told local reporters. “When driving, reduce your speed as necessary to avoid a collision and utilize your low-beam headlights in order to adapt to changing weather conditions.”
Last tracked at about 3-miles southeast of the intersection of SR-206 and US-1 just after noon today, troopers on the scene had increased concerns that visibility may deteriorate quickly due to smoke and fog-type conditions; especially during this evening and early morning hours tomorrow.
