Public Relations Coordinator, Katie Lay, has invited Historic City News readers to attend when Nettles Fine Jewelry celebrates spring with an evening of jewelry, fashion, fun, and entertainment on Friday, April 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at its store; located at 1811 US-1 South in St Augustine. The event is a fundraiser for the Peter Pan Birthday Club through Flagler Health Care Foundation.
All donations made through the Peter Pan Birthday Club will go directly to Flagler Hospital, providing funds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric Program.
“We look forward to this evening of fashion and philanthropy,” said Clay Nettles, owner of Nettles Fine Jewelry. “I can’t think of a better way to welcome spring than to anticipate the latest fashions while supporting the Peter Pan Birthday Club. I hope to see a lot of people there!”
Models will be displaying the latest in fashion from H.W. Davis and Rochelle’s Boutique, and they will also be modeling beautiful jewelry items from the Nettles collection. Hair and makeup will be provided by J.W. Salon for the models. Various categories of jewelry will be marked to show what percentage of proceeds from each purchase will benefit the charity throughout the month of April.
“These areas care for some of our community’s youngest and most vulnerable residents,” said Nangela Davidson, director of Maternal Child Services at Flagler Hospital. “We are dedicated to serving our community by offering family-centered care. Ensuring our medical team has the resources needed assists us with our mission and keeps families together. This is an amazing gift.”
The mission of the Peter Pan Children’s Fund is to educate young people about philanthropy and celebrate their success. In 1992, a young girl named Julia Hart decided to give up birthday presents and raise money for a children’s hospital. Her generous gesture would later inspire other young people to become philanthropists. This was the beginning of the Peter Pan Children’s Fund. Today, hospitals all across the world benefit from children who have chosen to give, rather than receive, on their birthdays, as well as from adults who also want to have fun and raise money for a great cause.
Admission is free, and champagne and light appetizers will be served. Direct donations to the Peter Pan Birthday Club will be accepted, and opportunities for a chance drawing to win a gift basket will also be available.
Through philanthropic efforts and community outreach, the Flagler Health Care Foundation’s mission is to financially support Flagler Hospital’s goal of providing the best patient experience with the best staff and the best equipment.
