It is with a profound feeling of loss that Historic City News announces that our dear, sweet and patriotic friend, Judy Mabry, went to dance with Jesus last night just before 9:00 p.m.
Judy was one of the greatest patriots one would ever hope to know. She was instrumental in the original formation of the St. Augustine Tea Party, The St. Johns County Tea Party and the Republican Assemblies.
Judy was a member of the local Republican Executive Committee and put much effort into electing Conservative candidates.
She displayed unending servitude; with honor and dignity in many patriotic events. Her last large function was the Frederick Douglas presentation at Molasses Junction in June, the evening before hip surgery.
During that recuperation period, her doctor discovered that she had inoperable stomach cancer, which had metastasized.
Judy was peaceful and accepted that prognosis, looking forward to going “Home” to be with her husband, Bob, whom she lost in 2007.
Historic City News would like to thank Patti Henderson for sharing this information with her fellow readers.
