US Representative DeSantis addresses veterans in St Augustine

This afternoon, Monday, May 5th, St Johns County’s Congressman, Ron DeSantis, will hold a press conference to discuss the unacceptable patient backlog at the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to an invitation received by Historic City News this morning.

DeSantis, who is also a veteran, will discuss how mismanagement and related issues are adversely affecting the more than 1.5 million veterans that call Florida home.

Local veterans leaders will meet with DeSantis at the VFW Post 2391, located at 6184 US-1 South in St Augustine, at 2:00 p.m.

DeSantis is supporting HR-4301, known as the “Department of Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act”. He says, if passed, it will help bring accountability to the US Department of Veterans Affairs. He will be available to answer questions on the proposed legislation.
