The St. Augustine Art Association announced to Historic City News in partnership with St. Johns County Schools, that together they will present the 10th Annual All-County High School Art Show, March 6 – 29, in their gallery at 22 Marine Street.
Art teachers in all of the local high schools selected a combined total of 150 student works of art for the exhibit. The materials range from experimental digital media and graphite studies to abstract pottery and sculptural assemblages.
“These young artists really knocked it out of the park in this exhibit. Their work is just amazing,” said Cable Spence; an artist, musician and Advisory Board Member of the St. Augustine Art Association. “I have to credit their teachers, parents and the school system for emphasizing the value of good art education.”
The exhibition, judged by Spence, is sponsored by Carr, Riggs and Ingram.
Also on display during March is the popular “Cutting Edge Exhibition”, a juried installation featuring works created by professional and emerging artists that push the boundaries of ideas and materials.
Historic City News readers are invited, free of charge, to attend the announcement ceremony of award winners for both exhibits during this month’s First Friday Art Walk on March 6th, at 7:00 p.m. Due to ongoing construction, visitors should use the Charlotte Street entrance at the Art Association.
