Scott will be looking to rebuild support in northeast Florida after the resignation of John Thrasher and defeat of Doc Renuart in the recent special primary election. The Governor will most likely be appointing a Republican with the ability to build strong party alliances.
The Appointments Office supports the Governor in meeting his major obligation to appoint qualified, representative and appropriate people to a large number of important leadership roles throughout the State.
There is no date certain or deadline for Governor Scott to make the appointment.
