A group of local business and resident interests recently commissioned a county-wide study to determine voter preferences regarding a possible one-cent sales tax or other potential revenue sources that could be utilized to support public services, programs, and facilities.
Representatives from the group are scheduled to present results of the study to the Board of County Commissioners during the regular meeting on Tuesday, May 19th, at the County Administration Building, 500 San Sebastian View.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., and the study is expected to be considered shortly thereafter.
The research was funded by private interests and conducted by Bruce Barcelo, Principle in Barcelo and Company, Jacksonville, Florida.
St Johns County had no role in the creation, implementation, or tabulation of the survey. The Board of County Commissioners appreciates the undertaking of the study on behalf of the St Johns County community.
