Our friends at the Florida Times Union are cleaning the pie off their collective faces this morning after an embarrassing incident that started an avalanche of negative buzz on twitter, facebook, and other social media towards the publisher who also publishes the St Augustine Record.
While covering a story on page 1, top of the fold, whose headline, “Shock, anger after shooting”, told the story of the local school bus shooting incident Friday, apparently without noticing that a bright yellow sticker was promoting readers to consider attending the Gun Show this weekend.
A T-U spokesman blames the imaginary line between the advertising department and the news department for the foul-up, but, in the meantime, the blogosphere is none to impressed with the lack of sensitivity.
