On Saturday, July 4th, 2015, Florida Living History will host its third annual Founding Day fundraiser at Mission Nombre de Dios; located along San Marco Avenue, at 27 Ocean Avenue in St. Augustine.
Management at the Mission will allow the Florida Living History volunteers to coordinate the use of their ample, secure parking lot.
“In order to raise funds to produce our historical re-enactment of the September, 1565 founding of St. Augustine, we will collect a very affordable $10 donation for all-day parking at the Mission,” president, Davis Walker, told Historic City News. “The Mission grounds are traditionally one of the finest venues in the City of St. Augustine for viewing the Fourth of July fireworks display.”
The last remaining supply of the popular St. Augustine 450th Anniversary t-shirts will be on sale for $15
All proceeds from Saturday’s fundraiser event will go to support the commemoration of the founding of the “Noble and Loyal City” 450-years ago at the Mission site; the Birthplace of America and Cradle of Christianity in the continental United States. All profits from the sale of t-shirts, goes to support Florida Living History’s volunteer living-history Events celebrating Florida’s colonial heritage.
Florida Living History, Inc., is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the support of living history activities, events, and portrayals related to the history of colonial Florida.
