Lighthouse property reclassification hearing Monday

300-LIGHTHOUSE-PARKHistoric City News readers who have been following the proposed land use changes relative to 81 Lighthouse Avenue, the matter will come before the St Augustine City Commission for a second reading and public hearing during their regular meeting Monday night. Action to adopt the proposed ordinances could happen at that meeting.

First, there will be a Public Hearing on Ordinance 2015-03, amending the Comprehensive Plan, Future Land Use Map to reclassify a parcel of land containing approximately 4.6 acres and located at the northeast corner of the intersections of Carver Street, Anastasia Avenue and Red Cox Drive, excluding the St. Augustine Lighthouse Tennis Courts, from “Recreation and Open Space” to “Residential Medium Density Mixed Use” (with map notations).

The second part of this project includes a Public Hearing on Ordinance 2015-04, amending the zoning for the property located at the northeast corner of the intersections of Carver Street, Anastasia Avenue and Red Cox Drive, excluding the St. Augustine Lighthouse Tennis Courts, from “Government Use” to “Maritime Use District”.

Director of Planning and Building David Birchim, will present both items to the commission.
