St Augustine Mayor, Nancy Shaver, told Historic City News that she is pleased with the positive feedback she has received from holding monthly coffee meetings with residents around the city.
During the campaign leading to her election in November, Shaver recalled that everyday citizens felt disconnected from the city commission and city hall.
“This was our third coffee and I am continuing to meet new residents who say they appreciate the opportunity to discuss ideas in an informal way,” Shaver told Historic City News editor Michael Gold, who was in attendance. “By changing locations each month, I find that everyone has the opportunity to participate.”
To date, Mayor Shaver held meetings at Theo’s on King Street, O.C. White’s on Avenida Menendez, and Friday, at Jaybird’s on North Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
As the locations are reserved, the mayor publishes the information on her website at http://nancyshaver.com/
