When the steering committee for the Lincolnville Community Redevelopment Area holds its meeting on Tuesday, October 13th, Historic City News has learned that residents who attend will learn more about the process of obtaining clear title to their property.
Land title to real estate, even from one family member to another, is conveyed through a deed. However, any document, claim, unreleased lien or encumbrance, might invalidate or impair the title to the real property, or make the title doubtful.
The usual remedy for a cloud on title is to file a civil action to quiet title. Megan Wall, Managing Attorney for St. Johns County Legal Aid, will discuss the services available to Lincolnville residents through the Legal Aid office surrounding unclear property titles.
Other meeting topics will include possible grant-funded redevelopment projects, and methodology for creating a unique logo and mission statement for the Lincolnville Community Redevelopment Area.
This meeting will convene one hour earlier than usual, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Willie Galimore Center, 399 Riberia Street
