URGENT: County Commissioners Special Meeting

Posted on 02/11/201502/13/2015 By Historic City News

400-SJC-BOCC-SEAL-LOGOSt. Johns County Communications Manager, Michael Ryan, has asked that Historic City News remind our readers that there will be a vital public meeting tomorrow evening to discuss the spending priorities for the foreseeable future.

Chairman Rachael Bennett will call the late meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday February 12 in the St Johns County Auditorium located at 500 San Sebastian View in St Augustine.

“The Board will discuss the issues pertaining to the funding of future services including transportation projects, the Fire Rescue Department, the Sheriff’s Office, parks, recreational programming, social services, library facilities and programming, beach management, and other important community services,” Ryan told local news reporters.

The St. Johns Board of County Commissioners is soliciting public input regarding the challenge of balancing available revenues with community expectations.

The meeting will begin with a brief presentation outlining the County’s current and projected financial environment, reserving the majority of the remaining time for public comment and discussion between members of the commission.
