Watchdog for a security conscious clientele

Businesses and individuals in St Johns County rely on the men and women of law enforcement to protect them and their property from crime. But, until the unlikely event that we are provided a patrolman on every street corner, citizens must become increasingly more security conscious.
According to Department of Justice statistics, a property crime occurs every 3.7 seconds. This could be anything from a house burglary to a motor vehicle theft.
“I read in Historic City News almost every day about neighborhoods, commercial properties, and individually owned homes that could have benefited from private patrol services,” St Augustine local, Jesse Harrigan, the founder of Central Security Agency told reporters.
When Harrigan founded his state licensed and insured agency in 2011, he knew that he could curb those numbers by providing properly trained, well equipped officers to proactively patrol neighborhoods.
Harrigan explained, “We have been able to exceed the expectations of our security conscious clientele with highly visible, professionally marked patrol vehicles that are outfitted to provide a solid crime deterrent.”
Its no secret, according to Harrigan, that he is able to exceed the capabilities of typical security companies who some of his clients have employed in the past.
“I will only employ men and women of the highest caliber of integrity and professionalism,” Harrigan said in a one-on-one interview with Historic City News editor, Michael Gold. “Our patrol is comprised mostly of former law enforcement officers and personnel with military training; they’re not your average security guards.”
Each officer is properly licensed by the state and is fully equipped to protect those they serve, Harrigan remarked. His patrol officers wear a distinctive uniform; complete with a firearm, pepper spray, and a Taser. He reports that firearms retraining requires a minimum of annual certification by a qualified firearms instructor.
Central Security Agency specializes in patrol services, executive protection, alarm response, and guard services. However, they also offer some flexible and cost-saving solutions as alternatives to full-time patrols. For example, Harrigan says that a majority of his clients are signed up for “random patrol services”.
A client’s property is protected from trespassers, vandalism and minor maintenance issues using officers who conduct unannounced vehicle and foot patrols on a daily or weekly basis.
A designated contact person is notified via email with a narrative report and pictures of any problems encountered. Harrigan says that this service is ideal for part-time residents or for others who may be away from their home or business for a long period of time.
Another solution can be “cooperative patrol services” where the patrol cost is shared amongst properties located within close proximity to each other. Harrigan said he has interest from homeowner’s associations and condominiums for a service that maximizes a security presence — without the cost normally associated with full-time, on-site security personnel.
“Whatever type service you choose, rest assured that Central Security Agency aims to provide cost effective security solutions with a commitment to customer service,” Harrigan emphasized.
