Historic City News readers are being cautioned that Southbound US-1 at SR-9B, and southbound SR-9B at I-295, will completely close to vehicular traffic from 8:00 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday as part of construction on that section of SR-9B between Philips Highway and I-95.
All southbound lanes on Philips Highway from Old St. Augustine Road to SR-9B will close. Also, all southbound lanes on SR-9B from I-295 to Philips Highway will close.
The detour for southbound Philips Highway is west on Old St. Augustine Road, south on Bartram Park Boulevard and east on Race Track Road returning to US-1 southbound.
The detour for southbound SR-9B is continuing south on I-295 to the Philips Highway exit.
Northbound SR-9B and northbound Philips Highway will remain open to motorists. There will be no access to northbound SR-9B from southbound Philips Highway.
The second phase of SR-9B from Philips Highway to I-95 is being designed and built by Superior Construction and Arcadis U.S. for $95 million. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2016.
