Sergeant Dylan Bryan informed local reporters that a second burn, in the area of the Guana River State Park, may also affect roadways along SR-A1A; north Coastal Highway.
A third controlled burn is being monitored by the Florida Highway Patrol in the area of SR-13 at Ward’s Creek, near SR-16.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling in these areas. Visibility may deteriorate quickly due to smoke and fog conditions, especially during the night time and early morning hours.
Drivers are reminded to reduce their speed as necessary to avoid a collision and utilize their low beam headlights in order to adapt to changing weather conditions.
