Brian Thompson reported to Historic City News that readers are welcome to attend the January 29th presentation of poetry and prose by poet and teacher Laura McCullough; the next installment of the popular “Writers-in-Residence” program at Flagler College.
McCullough is well-known as a poet of loss, love and contemporary life. Her most recent book of poems, “Rigger Death and Hoist Another” was published by Black Lawrence Press in 2013.
“These poems fly across the page as they reveal a mind that questions and reveres in equal measure,” said poet Bob Hicok, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for poetry.
McCullough teaches full-time at Brookdale Community College, in Lincroft, New Jersey. She founded the Creative Writing Program there, and, in Atlantic City, the Winter Poetry and Prose Getaway Conference at Seaview.
If you plan to attend this free performance, it will be held in the Flagler Room of Ponce de Leon Hall, located at 74 King Street in St Augustine, beginning at 7:00 p.m. January 29, 2015.
